What is the Family Foster Care Program?

Foster Care at Mt. Olive Care is a supportive living option where individuals with complex behavioral needs and those requiring specialized therapeutic care, live in the private home of a qualified care provider. This model fosters stability, growth, and a sense of belonging in a nurturing family environment. Providers receive thorough training, background checks, and ongoing guidance to ensure high-quality, person-centered support.

How It Works

The individual is matched with a trained provider who opens their home and offers consistent, person-centered care. Providers may be:

  • Non-relatives approved by the Washoe County and Mt. Olive Care

  • Family members who meet specific criteria, are cleared by the Washoe County and Mt. Olive Care, and choose to support their loved one in their home
