Shared Living

What is Shared Living?

Shared Living offers individuals with intellectual disabilities (or related conditions) a safe, supportive, and community-based home environment. Individuals live with a qualified provider who includes them in family life while supporting their independence through personalized care and intermittent services.

Who are Shared Living Providers?

Shared Living Providers are self-employed caregivers who open their homes and hearts to individuals served by Mt. Olive Care.

These providers:

  1. Support daily living activities

  2. Promote community integration

  3. Create a nurturing, inclusive home environment

Providers may include non-relatives or approved family members under the Family Shared Living model.

Successful Shared Living begins with the right pairing. Our thoughtful matching process includes:

  • Compatibility assessments

  • In-depth interviews and home visits

  • Cultural and lifestyle consideration

  • Collaborative input from individuals, guardians, and service teams

We believe in empowering individuals to choose where and with whom they live.
